Angle iron is the workhorse of steel fabrication. Its L-shaped profile is simple to cut, drill and weld, and it is strong enough for lintels, frames and bracing. Iron Wei Steel Corp supplies steel angles in a wide range of leg sizes and thicknesses from our Jamaica, Queens warehouse.
Many New York brick and block buildings rely on steel angle lintels over windows and doors. We can cut angles to the exact opening size and drill them for your installer.
Angles we supply
- Equal-leg angles. Both legs the same width, for example 2" x 2" x 1/4". Used for frames, brackets and bracing.
- Unequal-leg angles. One leg longer than the other, for example 4" x 3" x 5/16". Often used as lintels.
- Stainless and aluminum angles. For trim, marine and corrosion-resistant applications.
How angles are sized
Angles are named leg x leg x thickness. A few common examples:
